Totally agree with this. Continuity is only meaningfully possible in smaller practices. This helps patient satisfaction and improves outcomes in so many ways- some easily measurable and others intangible.
Bigger GP practices are associated with decreased patient satisfaction and perceptions of access https://t.co/eMuimUyZ9h via @Dr_PJEdwards

Plus there was a Health & Social Care Committee report which all MPs / Policy makers seem to be ignoring - makes you wonder why, who’s advising, who is paying, what’s the gain. When it’s clearly not patients who will gain there must be other agendas.

Policymakers push ’general practice at scale’ as the panacea for primary care. Ipsos Mori pt survey - which @UKLabour @wesstreeting sensibly put grt store by - tells us whatever the model, small/medium practices must be supported & thrive https://t
Agree with this from my personal experience.

@gushamilton wrote it up in 2022 with adjustments. can't do exact repeat analysis without some rounding as want to do multilevel mixed effects logistic regression with binomial base but in the weighted results base not given as integer. https://t.co/sOrSSU
Similar results replicated in 2023 data. 📉 GP at scale still isn't the solution (in terms of patient satisfaction) But the number of GP practices continues to fall due to closures or mergers / take overs #GP #NHS #PATIENT https://t.co/YQQVrszRuu

@bcdelaney1 @BJGPjournal @Stata @prof_tweet @SharpDebbie That's what Denis Pereira Gray et al. have highlighted. I am going to see if I can get the individual level GPPS data to have a look in more detail and adjust for q9 Freq of speaking to preferred GP
What an interesting piece of research by @Dr_PJEdwards here. Larger GP practices should in theory improve access and services… but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Have a read, and check out the original @BJGPjournal paper.
