In general practice income per patient is poorly correlated to deprivation (which is a decent, but not perfect, proxy for patient complexity/multimorbidity) because we use an outdated allocation method. No-one has the bravery to push for a big change. ht
We've known this for years but no politician want to bite the bullet and change the formula. Result: vast variation in GP provision in different areas. And no prospect if change.
