Video consultations reduce the amount of time spent on the “biopsychosocial” issues. Video Group Clinics could give time back for this and re-prioritise the patient agenda. @BritSocLM @BJGPjournal https://t.co/qUQ1XLUBNi

@DundeeTecCare @bmj_latest @DrSimonHodes @DrNeenaJha There really are no reliable stats on this at the moment. Only one small study on follow up consultations which showed no increased workload, but it was not a trial so needs to be cautiously interpreted.

And @MattHancock @NHSBfdCraven it only currently works (in Bradford) if GPs use their personal phones and personal data. Significant upgrades of NHS IT essential if longterm use expected.
When I went to see my GP a few years ago for some physical symptoms he listened and watched and said "I think you might be depressed". I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have caught it if hadn't been a face to face. He saved me that day.

Hancock didn't do his job remotely then broke his own rules by clasping another MP when voting. But then seeks to tell GPs that telephone consultations work! Tories have been wanting to turn the NHS into an 'app' for a decade it's not there's to steal. #re

This could be dangerous. A colleague with bouts of depression used to look fine, but was smelly as s/he descended, her GP would have noticed this and been able to support much better with all senses significant.

@UCL_PCPH pre covid analysis... how context changes!
First stab at a qualitative evaluation of our brave new world. Results feel intuitively right. Mix of methods will be the model going forward, modulated according to case type and patient preference
Interesting but fieldwork 2017/18 - how different would this be post-COVID?
Very welcome insights. Given diversity of needs of pts, reflecting diversity in delivery methods is key. Meeting needs in hybrid model of video, phone, F2F, SMS broadens and deepens our reach if done thoughtfully.
