Because of what ‘holistic’, 'functional' and ‘integrative’ have become in too many circles, I developed an allergy to these words. @dnunan79 took his revolt to print. Well-said and much-needed paper, David ! https://t.co/HsWaoX0FMJ
This is an excellent article on an important topic. Thanks @dnunan79 @dnblane @mgtmccartney "We stress the need for greater attention to public health and community-level interventions and a more critical approach to current practice." https://t.co/injhsez

Interesting discussion.... imo investing resources upstream (schools/colleges/universities etc) to improve health literacy/behaviours would pay huge dividends to society as a whole. It's been eye-opening as a GP to have to make up for shortfalls in this
A great call for more #ebm and upstream public health actions, instead of narrow-minded and uncritical lifestyle medicine.

Everyone should feel empowered and enabled to make healthy choices - it's good for the individual and the NHS - but the individualisation of lifestyle medicine discounts the systemic drivers of health and inequality Important thread; important article 👉🏽

In the US, “lifestyle” only exists on either coast. No lifestyle or need for it in the rest of the country....
